Frightened UK tourists evacuated from Tunisia

LONDON— More than 1,000 tourists have arrived back in Britain after being evacuated from Tunisia after mass protests prompted the president to flee the country.
Tourists arriving at British airports told reporters on Saturday they were frightened when they saw burning buildings but they had been able to get to Tunisian airports without severe problems despite the chaos.
Tourism officials said more special flights are expected Sunday so several hundred other tourists can be brought home.
Tunisia is a popular resort for Britons and other Europeans seeking sun and sand during the dark winter months and the unrest there caught tour operators by surprise.
Britain's Foreign Office says another 150 to 200 Britons are traveling independently in Tunisia.
