'Gaddafi's tanks still in centre of Misrata'

BEIRUT - Western air strikes hitgovernment tanks on the outskirts of Libya's rebel-held Misratalate on Wednesday but tanks inside the city remain there andhave not been hit, a resident told Reuters by telephone.

Forces loyal to Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi seized controlof Misrata's port on Wednesday, stranding thousands of Egyptianand sub-Saharan African migrant workers, who were seekingevacuation by sea, the resident said.
