Gafni: Raising price of water for hospitals is criminal

Knesset Finance Committee Chair Moshe Gafni (UTJ) peremptorily ended a session of his committee Tuesday after only a few minutes after the Treasury and the Water Authority did not give him specific enough answers regarding the water price hike for hospitals and mikvaot [ritual baths].
Gafni warned the representatives that if they did not provide clear answers in one week's time, he would invite the attorney-general to look into whether they were violating the law. Water prices are going to rise 41% over the course of the year, and MK Uri Maklev initiated the discussion as to the effect on hospitals and mikvaot, both large consumers of water.
