Galant cleared of charges in the moshav affair

Former Navy commander Maj.-Gen. (res.) Yoav Galant has been cleared of charges in the moshav villa affair by the Menashe-Alona Regional council on Wednesday, Army Radio reported.
Galant was the choice of Defense Minister Ehud Barak to be appointed the IDF’s 20th chief of General Staff in 2010, but lost the position to Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz following accusations that his villa in Moshav Amikam extends onto public land.
The council determined that a mistake in the building plan was what led to suspicions of Galant's alleged incursion onto public land.
