Ganot appointed dir.-gen. of Public Security Ministry

Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch appointed Yaakov Ganot as the next director-general of the Public Security Ministry on Thursday.
Ganot will replace Hagai Peleg, who recently resigned after learning that a harassment investigation was launched against him.
Aharonovitch appointed Ganot to the position after meeting with Attorney-General Yehuda Weinstein, who determined that Ganot could legally fill the role, despite the fact that he was tried on bribery charges and acquitted in 1994.
