Gaza exports tomatoes to Jordan first time since 2007

Israel permitted farmers in the Gaza Strip to export thirty tons of tomatoes to Jordan, the first such export to the Hashemite Kingdom since Hamas took over in 2007.
The export, which was announced by the IDF spokesperson on Monday, left Gaza through the Kerem Shalom crossing, which borders Israel near Rafah.
A truckload of carnations and two truckloads of strawberries will also pass through for export to Europe, Palestinian Ma'an news agency reported. Agricultural exports from Gaza to Europe have been ongoing since the end of last year.
Gaza also exported furniture to Jordan for an exhibition last month, after receiving permission from the IDF.
