‘Gaza flotilla’ asks Turkish Cyprus to let legislators board

The organizers of the flotilla carrying activists and aid to Gaza were negotiating with the authorities of Turkish Cyprus on Saturday to allow 25 European Parliament members to board the flotilla through a Turkish-controlled port in the north of the island, following a refusal by the Republic of Cyprus.
Some ship captains of the flotilla were detained shortly overnight for trying to get the legislators on board in contravention of the Republic of Cyprus’s instructions, but have been released, according to Israel Radio
The flotilla organizers have stressed that even if negotiations with Turkish Cyprus authorities fail the flotilla will in any case head on to Gaza on Saturday afternoon and expects to reach Gaza late on Sunday.
