German tourist drowns in Red Sea

CAIRO — Egypt's state news agency on Sunday reported that a German tourist drowned while swimming in the Red Sea near the resort town of Hurghada.
The Middle East News Agency said the 74-year old died from asphyxia while swimming Saturday.
MENA said Sunday that doctors at a Hurghada hospital declared the man dead upon arrival.
Hurghada is a resort town about 315 miles (510 kilometers) southeast of Cairo. It is popular with European tourists.
