Gilad: Israel did not give up the freedom to defend itself

Israel did not give up the right to defend itself in the understandings reached with Egypt to bring on a cease-fire with Hamas, Defense Ministry security and diplomacy chief Amos Gilad told Israel Radio on Thursday.
If the people of Israel are threatened, Gilad said, Israel will be able to respond using any means, including targeted assassinations.
Gilad told Israel Radio that a ground operation in Gaza could bring military achievements, but may have a negative affect on Israel's ties with its neighbors.
