Gilad: Israel not presently facing nuclear threat

Department for Security and Diplomacy head Maj.-Gen. Amos Gilad said that Israel's security situation fairs well and is not facing a nuclear threat. Israel Radio reported. According to Gilad, Israel has successfully raised alertness on the northern and southern borders.
Speaking from the Tel Aviv District Bar Association meeting in Eilat, Gilad also said that Israel should maintain sound relations with Egypt during the initial phases of the country's new democratic process.
The Department for Security and Diplomacy head added that despite the fact that Turkey was one of Israel's chief allies and strategic partners, especially in the region, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is changing this from the sidelines. He added that Erdogan's actions have serious security implications for Israel that require close attention.
