Gingrich reiterates 'invented' Palestinian comment

GOP Presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich reiterated his controversial remark Thursday evening that the Palestinians are an "invented" people.
Speaking at a CNN debate, Gingrich said that prior to 1970s, Palestinians simply considered themselves Syrian and Jordanian Arabs.
His goal, he said, was for Palestinians to live in peace with Israel. "They can achieve it any morning they say Israel has a right to exist," Gingrich said.
Addressing the Florida audience, Gingrich noted that 11 rockets were fired at Israel in November. "How many of you would be for a peace process and how many would say 'that looks like an act of war?'"
Gingrich promised that, should he be elected President, he would issue an executive order to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem on the first day.
