Golan Heights bill to go to Knesset for 2nd, 3rd time

Likud MK Yariv Levin announced Monday that he will bring the Golan Heights referendum bill to the Knesset for a second and third reading, without waiting for the Ministerial Committee for Legislation's approval.
According to Levin, the committee has not yet voted on the bill, but has discussed it.
The bill states that any government decision to cede territory in the Golan Heights or east Jerusalem must undergo a national referendum within 180 days.
This requirement could be overridden only by the approval by 80 MKs.
The bill was debated by the Knesset in December, with 68 MKs in favor, 22 against and one abstaining.
