Government that brought Kosovo independence ousted

PRISTINA, Kosovo — Kosovo's parliament ousted Prime Minister Hashim Thaci's government in a no-confidence vote, paving the way for elections to be called within 45 days.
The assembly voted 66-1 on Tuesday to bring down Thaci's government, which declared independence from Serbia in 2008, and disband Kosovo's 120-seat assembly. Kosovo's acting President Jakup Krasniqi will set a date for general elections. The ballot is likely to be held in mid-December.
The vote comes following a decision by Thaci's main coalition partner, the Democratic League of Kosovo, to leave the government.
