Gov't considering cutting funds to anti-Israel directors

The ministerial legislative committee was on Sunday set to discuss a proposal that the state desist from funding movies by artists who malign Israel.
The law was proposed following a remark from Scandar Copti, the Arab half of the Academy-Award nominated Ajami director-duo, who said in an interview with Israeli media that he did not represent Israel at the Oscars.
Another law the ministerial committee will discuss is an Israel Beiteinu proposal to give preference to those who served in the army or did national service in higher education admissions, work and land allocation.
Also up for consideration is a law proposed by Shai Hermesh (Kadima) and Carmel Shama (Likud) to ban the media from contacting or approaching bereaved families immediately after they receive news of a death in their family.
