Gov't to encourage local water technologies

The water corporations of Givatayim, Hod Hasharon, Rosh Haayin, Ramat Hasharon and Eilat, along with the Water Authority, called on local entrepreneurs on Wednesday to test their water technologies out on their systems.

The government has set aside NIS 10m. a year to promote the development of "blue and white" water technologies.

The assistance would cover any water related technology from conservation to security to monitoring. Developers would be eligible for up to 70% of the worth of the company to continue development.

Technologies would be examined based on a number of criteria including export potential, financial benefit to the water economy, technological innovation, and more.
