Gush Dan smell from May still 'unidentifiable'

The strange chlorine-like smell that overtook Gush Dan area residents on a Thursday about a month is still unidentifiable, according to the preliminary conclusions of an Environmental Protection Ministry investigation team, a ministry source told The Jerusalem Post on Monday night.
Because the odor's origins have thus far been unidentifiable, the ministry cannot file criminal charges, as Environmental Protection Minister Gilad Erdan had originally intended, the source said. The ministry will be launching a second investigation with a new team, under the leadership  of Dr. Tzur Galin, the source continued. Galin is the environmental department manager of the Ramat Hovav Local Industrial Council.
Meanwhile, Erdan will be asking the chief of police for assistance with the second investigation as well, the ministry source said.
