Hague: I am extremely concerned by deaths in Syria

British Foreign Secretary William Hague on Friday said "I am extremely concerned by the reports of deaths and casualties across Syria" after the bloodiest day since anti-regime protests erupted a month ago left at least 70 dead. Hague also called on the Syrian government to "exercise restraint instead of repression."
" I condemn the unacceptable killing of demonstrators by the Syrian security forces," Hague added, saying the Syrian government led by President Bashar al-Assad should address the legitimate demands of the Syrian people," and that "Emergency Law should be lifted in practice, not just in word."
