Hague: Sanctions are 'peaceful, legitimate' pressure

Newly imposed EU sanctions on Iran's oil sector and central bank are peaceful and legitimate measures, UK Foreign Secretary William Hague said Monday.
Speaking to reporters, Hague emphasized the need to "increase the peaceful, legitimate pressure on the Iranian government," in order to lure it back to the negotiation table.
Hague also said that any Iranian attempt to block the Strait of Hormuz would be illegal, and ultimately unsuccessful.
