Haifa hospital staff diagnosed with whooping cough

Haifa’s Rambam Medical Center reported Thursday that "a number of" its delivery room staffers have come down with whooping cough in the last few weeks. As a result, the hospital initiated steps recommended by the Health Ministry to prevent newborns from being infected.
The Haifa district health office will contact parents who were in the obstetrics department during the past three weeks and send the infants to prophylactic treatment.
One can contact the health office on Friday between 8 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. by calling (04) 863-2985 or 863-2987.
