'Half of Israelis oppose striking Iran'

Fifty percent of Israelis believe the IDF should not attack Iranian nuclear reactors, even if diplomatic attempts to solve the problem fail, according to a Knesset Channel poll to be released Thursday.

The percentage supporting a military strike in the event of a diplomatic failure stood at 43%.

The poll also found that 78% of the public believes a military strike on Iran would postpone Iran's acquisition of a nuclear weapon by several years; only 16% believe it will eliminate its nuclear capability altogether.
