Haniyeh: Egypt working to 'stop Israeli aggression'

Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh said Sunday that Egyptian officials were working "around them clock in order to stop Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip," after at least 17 Palestinians were killed in IAF strikes this past weekend.
Haniyeh called on the IDF to stop operations in the Gaza Strip "immediately," according to a statement from the Hamas prime minister published by Gaza news source Al Resalah Sunday afternoon.
A Hamas delegation headed by leader Mahmoud Zahar traveled to Cairo via the Rafah crossing Saturday evening, apparently in order to work with Egyptian officials towards brokering a ceasefire that would end the escalation in violence between Gaza and the IDF.
