Hariri cuts short US visit, heads to Paris

WASHINGTON — A Lebanese government official says Lebanon's prime minister is heading to France for consultations on his government's collapse.
Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri met with US President Barack Obama Wednesday. The official said Obama offered US support.
The Lebanese official said Hariri was traveling to Paris to meet President Nicolas Sarkozy before returning to Beirut. The official discussed the matter on condition of anonymity due to security and diplomatic concerns.
