Head of Libya's NTC calls for reconciliation

BENGHAZI, Libya - The leader of Libya's National Transitional Council, Mustafa Abdel Jalil, called on Sunday for national reconciliation and upholding the rule of law in a speech to tens of thousands of Libyans celebrating their country's liberation after 42 years' rule by Muammar Gaddafi.
"I call on everyone for forgiveness, tolerance and reconciliation. We must get rid of hatred and envy from our souls. This is a necessary matter for the success of the revolution and the success of the future Libya," he said.
"I call on all Libyans to resort to the rule of law and nothing but the law and not to take rights by the use of force," Abdel Jalil said. "We are seeking organised national security and a national army that will protect the borders and the nation." He said he hoped Yemenis and Syrians, both fighting to overthrow their rulers, would be victorious.
