High Court upholds Gaza Disengagement pardon law

The High Court of Justice on Thursday rejected an appeal against the law pardoning people who committed criminal offenses during the 2005 Gaza Disengagement. The appeal was denied by a majority of eight justices.
In the majority opinion, Supreme Court President Dorit Beinisch wrote that events during the Disengagement were unique in Israel's history and the violations took place under extraordinary circumstances.
