HK gov't working to evacuate travelers from Egypt

HONG KONG  — Security officials in Hong Kong said they have been in touch with about a dozen tour groups in Egypt and are working to get them out of the country.
Officials said late Monday that about 270 people in 11 tour groups are in Egypt and all are safe. About 40 people from Hong Kong are in Cairo, while another 20 more are heading there. The rest are in the southern town of Luxor.
The government has received 23 requests for help from both tour group members and individual travelers.
Under Secretary for Security Lai Tung-kwok said Hong Kong passport holders can board special flights arranged by authorities in Beijing to evacuate Chinese nationals.
