Horowitz to police: Stop trying to suppress social protests

MK Nitzan Horowitz (Meretz) Tuesday called on Israel Police to halt what he described as anti-democratic persecution of social justice activists aimed at suppressing their protest movement.
In an appeal to Israel Police Commissioner Insp.-Gen. Yohanan Danino, Horowitz said police were summoning social activists to interrogations and arriving at their homes "not over past actions, but ahead of future actions. The goal is clear: to spread fear in order to dissuade their activities."
"This is a completely unacceptable practice and is undemocratic," he added.
