A ceremony for Holocaust Remembrance Day was held at the Cameri Theater in Tel Aviv on Wednesday night. Entrance into the auditorium was by invite only, but hundreds of people were seated in the plaza watching the proceedings on a screen.
The hour long ceremony, called “One and All,” was held under the auspices of Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai and was officiated by actor Natan Dattner. Included in the lineup were readings by actors Limor Goldstein and Shlomo Vishinsky, and performances by singers Ninet Tiyeb, Vladi Blayberg and cantor Haim Adler.Around the corner in the Brodet Center for Jewish Learning, hundreds more gathered to watch Israeli artists, actors and writers commemorate the Holocaust through texts, performance and song. The event included songs by singers Daniella Spektor and Noam Rothem, and a theatrical performance by actor Rami Baruch. Rabbi Benny Lau, nephew of former chief rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau, ended the evening by recounting the story of his father, Holocaust survivor Naphtali Lau-Lavi.
