Hundreds of Jaffa residents demonstrate against police

Hundreds of Jaffa residents demonstrated on Saturday against police conduct in the city, which they claim is unfair. The protest took place without incident.
In particular, demonstrators were protesting the February arrest of two men, the brothers of Oscar-nominated film Ajami’s co-director Skander Copti, during a scuffle with police.
Police said Tony Copti and Jiras Copti were arrested after they assaulted policemen, and confirmed that they were subsequently released and ordered to stay out of Jaffa for three days. Tony Copti had a bit part in and worked as a production manager for the film.
