IDF appoints Amir Eshel as new IAF head

IDF Maj. Gen. Amir Eshel was formally appointed Thursday as new head of the Israeli air force (IAF) by IDF chief of general staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz.
Defense Minister Ehud Barak was also present at the ceremony.
Next Monday an additional ceremony and party will mark an official exchange of command of the IAF from current commander Maj. Gen. Ido Nehustan to Eshel.
Nehushtan began his career in 1975 as a Skyhawk fighter pilot.
