IDF officer suspected of drug running named

The military court of appeals lifted a media ban that prevented the naming of a senior IDF officer suspected of running a drugs smuggling network along the Egyptian border.
The suspect has been named as Major Eran Kablo, the third highest ranking officer in the Gaza Division of the IDF's southern command.
Kablo, who was an esteemed officer and who is married with two children, was tasked with securing sections of the southern border, and had access to narcotics seized by the army from smugglers, which he was supposed to pass on to the Israel Police.
His arrest last month sent shock waves through the IDF.
