IDF: Syrian mortar shell landed in Israeli territory

A Syrian mortar shell landed in Israeli territory on Wednesday afternoon, the IDF confirmed Wednesday evening.
The mortar landed near an IDF base on the Israel-Syria border in the Golan Heights. No damage or injuries were reported.
The IDF registered a complaint to the United Nations over the incident.
An IDF source said that the mortar likely landed in Israel accidentally, a misfire from Syrian infighting.
