IFCJ gives NIS 13.5m. to fight poverty in capital

International Fellowship of Christians and Jews’s President Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein announced on Sunday that his organization will donate NIS 13.5 million toward a project, in coordination with the Jerusalem Municipality, to support the capital’s Ethiopian immigrant community and fight poverty in the city.
As part of the program, NIS 6m. will be donated to needy families, with the aim of providing them with the means to become financially self-sufficient and ending their dependence on welfare.
The remaining funding will be earmarked for the Ethiopian community, with projects such as a spiritual center and social services center erected in the capital.
