In blow to Hariri, Jumblatt announces support for Hizbullah

Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Saad Hariri lost a crucial block of support in his bid to be selected as the next premier of the country, Reuters reported.

Druse leader Walid Jumblatt announced that he would support Hizbullah over Hariri's Western-backed Sunni bloc at a news conference Friday. "I am announcing the right political stand... by assuring the steadfastness of the group alongside Syria and the resistance," referring to Hizbullah, according to the report.
