Inpatient father attacks Barzilai Medical Center staff

The father of a 20-year-old man who was taken from a road accident to the at Ashkelon’s Barzilai Medical Center emergency room with light injuries on Sunday head-butted a security guard when he was asked to wait his turn.

The hospital reported Monday that the man and another of his sons then started a fight with other security guards and a policeman on guard at the hospital who tried to separate the attacker from the medical team.

The Israel Police was called, and an official complaint was filed. The security personnel required medical attention. The government hospital denounced violence against hospital staffers and said it would continue to fight the phenomenon.
