Iran expresses willingness to hold further talks with West

Iran on Saturday expressed willingness to hold further negotiations with western powers after talks in Istanbul collapsed due to what EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton called unrealistic demands by Iran.
“We are still prepared for further negotiations with the P5+1, based on common issues. [We are] prepared for comprehensive talks like we said in Geneva,” Iranian chief negotiator Saeed Jalili was quoted as saying by semi-official news agency Press TV.
Jalili addressed Ashton's contention that Iran's seeking of preconditions had derailed talks, saying that certain necessities did need to precede meaningful negotiations, such as strengthening the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and nuclear disarmament.
