Iran opposition leader says regime risks another revolution

Iran's opposition leader criticized Ahmadinejad's regime Monday, saying the country's hard-line political leaders could suffer the same fate as the deposed Shah if they continue to consolidate their grip on power.
The comments represent a clear break by Mir Hossein Mousavi with a ruling system he was once firmly a part of. The former prime minister was a fervent supporter of the 1979 revolution that brought cleric-led government to Iran before recasting himself as a leader of the reform-seeking opposition in last year's disputed presidential election.
In comments on his website Monday, Mousavi accuses hard-liners of moving toward an oppressive, one-party system.
Previously, he limited his criticism to authorities' post-election crackdown rather than taking on the ruling system.
