Iranian deputy FM condemns US interference in Syria

The visit of US Ambassador John Ford to the protest-ridden city of Hama is "suspicious and violates diplomatic norms," Iranian FARS News Agency cited Tehran's Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammad Reza Raouf Sheibani as saying on Sunday.
Sheibani slammed Washington's "direct interference" interference in Syria's internal affairs, and said that the US employs "deceptive and hypocritical moves" in an attempt to repair the Washington's reputation in a region that has been heavily influenced by US foreign policy.
The Iranian deputy foreign minister's comments come days after Ford's visit,  who visited in conjunction with French ambassador Eric Chevallier. Syria had also condemned the trips, saying the US visit was uncoordinated proved US meddling in Syrian affairs.
Sheibani showed support for the Syrian claim, adding that such a visit seeks to normalize US intervention in other countries' internal affairs.
