Iranians protest against US, 'global arrogance'

Iranians protested outside of the former US embassy in Tehran on Friday, marking the country's annual “Day of Fighting the Global Arrogance,” The New York Times reported.
The yearly celebration coincides with the anniversary of the November 4, 1979 Iranian hostage crisis, in which 52 American diplomats were held captive in the US embassy for 444 days, causing the breakdown in diplomatic relations between Washington and Tehran that continues 33 years later.
The Times reported that youth gathered outside the former US mission held up models of missiles, labelled “Made in Iran,” while senior Iranian security official Mohammad Reza Naghdi warned against any compromise with the “great Satan.”
