Iran's Khameini states right to veto Ahmadinejad decisions

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khameini on Saturday stressed his constitutional right to veto any of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's decisions that threaten national interests, DPA reported. Khameni made his comments from a state address before hundreds of Iranian citizens.
Khameni's remarks came a week after he vetoed Ahmadinejad's decision to replace Iran's intelligence chief, Heudar Moslehi. According to the Iranian consitution, Khameini has the final say on all state affairs.
An Associate Press report said that Khameni is believed to be formulating a new political team absent of many Ahmadinejad loyalists to lead the next government.
