Irish mail causes itching in Petah Tikva

An envelope sent from Ireland to a Bezeq branch in Petah Tikva contained an unidentified substance that caused employees to suffer from an itching sensation on Sunday afternoon.
Police sealed off the scene and dispatched a bomb squad. Dangerous-substance experts placed the envelope in a sealed container and took it to the Israel Institute for Biological Research in Ness Ziona for analysis.
No injuries have been reported and none of the employees required medical care by the early evening, police said.
“The envelope contained a substance that was supposed to arrive at the branch, but also contained an unidentified substance, which has been taken for analysis,” police added.
