Israel contemplating cooperation with Egypt on solar project

Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer revealed in a speech given Thursday at a renewable energy conference, that during his last visit to Egypt with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, an agreement was reached to initiate cooperation between Egypt and Israel on a solar-related project.
In the proposal, Israel would provide the solar technology and Egypt would provide the land needed to build renewable energy plants that could provide electricity to both countries. Surplus energy would be sold to other nations, Ben-Eliezer said.
