Israel offers aid to New Zealand following earthquake

The Foreign Ministry on Tuesday offered the government of New Zealand aid in the form of search and rescue equipment, medicine, food and emergency disaster supplies in the wake of a 6.3 magnitude earthquake that struck the city of Christchurch.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu instructed various government officials to remain in constant contact with the New Zealand government in order to assess their needs following the natural disaster.
Netanyahu requested that officials consider whether Israel would assist in the rescue and extrication of those trapped in the rubble and whether Israel would send aid to Israeli citizens currently in Christchurch.
The New Zealand government thanked the Foreign Ministry for the proposal and said that it would consider the receiving the aid.
