Israel and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) will sign the agreement for Israel’s accession to the organization on Tuesday, according to a Foreign Ministry statement. OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurria and Israel Ambassador to France Daniel Shek will sign the agreement at a ceremony to be held at the Israeli Embassy in Paris.
Israel was invited to join the OECD on May 10, and has been a de facto member since then. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz and Minister of Industry, Trade, and Labor Binyamin Ben-Eliezer attended a May 27 ceremony in which the invitation was made official.
