An Israeli lawyer was traveling with his sons down the Zambezi River in Zambia on Tuesday when a hippopotamus flipped his boat, Army Radio reported.
The two children were initially swept down the river but later saved. Unfortunately, the father, Avim Yariv, disappeared. The man's mother, poet Hilat Yeshurun, rushed to Zambia to search for him, according to the report.
The Israeli consul in Kenya was scheduled to travel to Zambia on Wednesday to assist with recovery efforts, the report said.
