Israelis hospitalized in India to be checked for 'bugs'

Strains of bacteria such as E.coli, klebsiella and others that spread in hospitals in India and are resistant to antibiotics have been identified among Israelis hospitalized here in recent months, the Health Ministry announced on Tuesday.
One of them, a woman, was found to be a carrier but not sick herself; she has been hospitalized at Sheba Medical Center.
Any patient who was hospitalized in India or treated by the Indian health system must be tested for resistant bacteria.
