Interior Minister Eli Yishai stood by his remarks calling for deportation of foreign worker's and their children from Israel in an interview with Army Radio on Sunday.
"Most of these children and their parents came to Israel as tourists. It's time to tell them the trip is over," said Yishai.
Yishai had particular disdain for those Israeli figures and politicians clamoring to allow all the children of foreign workers to stay in Israel on humanitarian grounds.
"Everyone is joining this play in the media," shouted Yishai. He went on to state that the easing of immigration restrictions through backdoor measures was endangering the "Zionist enterprise."
