Jaffa protesters wear hard-hats against 'police violence'

Demonstrators showed up at the archeological dig at the Andromeda Hill area in Jaffa site on Thursday, wearing yellow hard-hats "for protection against police violence," as the stickers on them read.
On Wednesday night, a demonstration against the dig and ensuing arrests that took place in Jerusalem left one motorcyclist in serious condition and another in moderate condition. Some two hundred rallying haredim also set fire to trash bins and used them to block Route 1.
An approaching motorcycle collided with a bin, and the two riders were flung off the vehicle. Eda Haredit rabbis are considering toning down the protests following the incident.
