Jerusalem police make arrests over prostitution ring

Jerusalem police arrested a man and a woman this week who are accused of operating a prostitution ring that brought women from Russia and the Ukraine to work in Israel.
On Wednesday afternoon, the two suspects were remanded in the Jerusalem District Court. The man was remanded for seven days and the woman remanded for six days, an unusually long period for a remand, due to the complicated nature of the international investigation. Police also arrested six women working as escorts and transferred them to a shelter in central Israel during the three-months long undercover investigation.
