Jewish Agency Director-General Moshe Vigdor announced on Thursday he was resigning after five years at the helm of the organization. He was asked by Education Minister Gideon Sa'ar to take over as director general of the Council for Higher Education, the government body that oversees Israeli public and private universities and colleges. Before his tenure at the Jewish Agency, Vigdor served as director-general of Hebrew University and is considered very knowledgeable about the higher education system.
