Jewish Agency to vote on strategy

The Jewish Agency for Israel’s leaders will gather in the capital next Sunday for three days of meetings during which they will vote on whether to approve a plan that would make Jewish education the centerpiece of its new agenda.
“The result will be earth-shattering to the Jewish world,” a senior official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to press, said. “In effect it will be the first time Israel funds Diaspora education.”
